Emergency & Professional Service Provided  GFD was established, in 1982, to render fire suppression and rescue services.  The fire district rendered emergency medical care as firefighter/EMTs since 1982 but began medical emergency transport (ambulance) services in 1987. Ganado Alarm (GFD Dispatch Center) started in July of 1987 with five FT Dispatchers.  In 2004, the fire district started its public education certification programs (First Aid CPR AED certification, Basic Life Support Healthcare Professional certification, and Fire Safety & Extinguisher training).  Today, the fire district continues to provide these services at a low and affordable fee or, depending on the nature, free of charge.
