Benefits of having Ganado Fire District Navajo Nation spans over 27,000 square miles of rural and treacherous land, which overlaps four states; Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah. GFD renders emergency services to five chapter (Ganado, Steamboat, Klagetoh, Kinlichee, and Cornfields) but not limited to the 1,000 square miles on Navajo Nation. The fire district also renders services to Wide Ruins, Greasewood Springs, Nazlini, & Jeddito Chapters and beyond through Mutual Aid Agreements (MAA). Navajo Nation Law Enforcement Window Rock Police District communication dispatch center relies and utilizes Ganado Alarm (GFD Communication Center) as “call takers” and as a “secondary communication center”. Law enforcement officers and Window Rock Dispatch center utilize Ganado Alarm when the communication repeaters are out of range or when the repeaters are down.
