Benefits of having Ganado Fire District  Navajo Nation spans over 27,000 square miles of rural and treacherous land, which overlaps four states; Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah.  GFD renders emergency services to five chapter (Ganado, Steamboat, Klagetoh, Kinlichee, and Cornfields) but not limited to the 1,000 square miles on Navajo Nation.  The fire district also renders services to Wide Ruins, Greasewood Springs, Nazlini, & Jeddito Chapters and beyond through Mutual Aid Agreements (MAA).  Navajo Nation Law Enforcement Window Rock Police District communication dispatch center relies and utilizes Ganado Alarm (GFD Communication Center) as “call takers” and as a “secondary communication center”.  Law enforcement officers and Window Rock Dispatch center utilize Ganado Alarm when the communication repeaters are out of range or when the repeaters are down.
