NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

PURSUANT TO A.R.S. 38-431.02 NOTICE IS GIVEN TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE GANADO FIRE DISTRICT BOARD AND TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC THAT THE BOARD WILL HOLD A MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC ON JANUARY 4, 2023 BEGINNING AT 6:00 P.M. MST AT THE GANADO FIRE STATION, GANADO, ARIZONA . * THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS MAY VOTE TO DISCUSS THIS MATTER IN EXECUTIVE SESSION PURSUANT TO A.R.S. 38-431-03. THE NAME OF THE INDIVIDUALS INVOLVED MAY BE OBTAINED FROM THE FIRE CHIEF’S OFFICE.

MEETING MINUTES

1. CALL TO ORDER at 6:15 p.m. by Althea James.

2. ROLL CALL Althea James, Margaret Etcitty, and LaVerne Joe.

Board Clerk Althea James handed Chair authorities to Fire Chief Woodie to carry out the role chair responsibilities for the Governing Board reorganization action items on the agenda. Chief Woodie accepted the roles and requested Administrative Assistant Roanhorse to assist with protocols.

3. GOVERNING BOARD REORGANIZATIONA ACTION

a. Review discuss and possible action to elect Fire Board Chairperson.

i. Fire Chief Woodie opened the floor up for nominations for Fire Board Chairperson position. Margaret Etcitty nominated Althea James for the Fire Board Chairperson position and seconded by LaVerne Joe. Althea James accepted the nomination. LaVerne Joe motioned to close nominations and vote for Althea James as Fire Board Chairperson and seconded by Margaret Etcitty. Voice vote: 3-0-0. Laverne Joe motioned to certify Althea James as Fire Board Chairperson and second by Margaret Etcitty. Voice Vote: 3-0-0. Althea James is the newly elected Fire Board Chairperson and thanks the board for the position.
