Update on Purchase of Apparatuses

Administrative Assistant Marcarlo Roanhorse is assigned the task to follow-up and carryout the task of working with Navajo Nation Division of Community Development (DCD) and Velocity sales representative Micheal Todd. On October 14, 2023, Navajo Nation wired an ACH Wireless Transfer of $2,485,717.20 to Freightliner and the transfer was completed on October 17, 2023. The three water tenders are receiving a graphics design on the side panels of the trucks and door. A picture is included for the board to review. The graphics work will be complete, and the water tenders will be ready for pick up on October 31, 2023. The target goal of pickup is November 1, 2023. The MSOs will be sent directly to Ganado Fire District to drop off with DCD. The mini pumpers are assembled and awaiting the chip for the pumps. The mini pumpers are currently in South Dakota and the chips are expected to be delivered October 25, 2023. Once the Chips are installed, they will go through a series of pump tests and will be delivered to Arizona. The Mini pumpers are anticipated to be deliver to Pheonix by the end of November 2023 and will be ready for pick up in Mid-December. Pictures of the mini pumpers have been attached to the report. Ambulance update will be forth coming its anticipated that they should be delivered to Arizona in January 2024. I have actively been visiting local leadership and previous leadership, thanking them for their efforts and providing an update to the chapters, Navajo Nation Council Delegates and Jonathan Nez. Administrative Assistant Marcarlo Roanhorse will provide a summarized update to the board members. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommend the support of the board for any administrative tasks to ensure a smooth transaction of receiving these items. Receiving the donations will serve the role of allowing for a quicker response and having a reliable fleet for the next 10 to 15 years. Extend your expressed gratitude to the 24 th Navajo Nation Council, the 25 th Navajo Nation Council, Honorable Council Delegate Vince James, Honorable Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren, Honorable Former Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez, the local chapters, DCD staff and district personnel.
