Regular Fire Board Meeting - June 15, 2022
3. PLEDGE OF ALLENGIANCE/MOMENT OF SILENCE Pledge of Allegiance lead by Fire Chief Dewayne Woodie & Steven Kee called for a moment of silence for recognition of the following groups and individuals: All first Responders, law enforcement officers, medical staff, indigenous Native American children in Canada, Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women/Men (May is MMIW awareness month), recognition of the late Francis Lester (Former Navajo Nation Elected Official of Whitecone, AZ), and all military personnel in Ukraine. 4. CALL TO THE PUBLIC: Consideration of concerns and comments from the public. Those wishing to address the Board are required to fill out a Request to Address the Board Form and Sign the Attendance Sign-In Sheet. Members of the Board may not discuss items that are not on the agenda. Therefore, action taken as a result of public comment will be limited to directing staff to study the matter or to scheduling the matter for further consideration and decision later date. None
5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Motion made by Althea James and seconded by LaVerne Joe to approve the agenda, as presented. Voice vote: 3-0-0.
6. CONSENT AGENDA Review, Discussion, and Possible Action to Approve the Consent Agenda. (Documentation concerning the matters on the Consent Agenda may be reviewed at the District Office. Any matter on the Consent Agenda will be removed from the Consent Agenda and discussed as a regular agenda item, upon the request of any Board members.) Motion made to receive a highlighted report by LaVerne Joe and seconded by Althea James. Chief Woodie and Mr. Roanhorse provided a highlight of the regular board meeting minutes on March 23, 2022, Fire Chief ’ s reports and Monthly financial & budget reports. Substitute motion made by Althea James to approve the

Discuss and possible action to adopt the FY’ 202 3 Annual Expenditure Budget. Motion made to approve items A. ( FY’ 2023 Annual Expenditure Budget ) and B. (approve board member(s), fire chief and administrative personnel(s) to attend the 2022 AFCA/AFDA Fire & EMS Leadership Conference & Expo from July 12-15, 2022, in Glendale, AZ.) by Althea James and seconded by LaVerne Joe. Voice Vote: 3-0-0. b. Review, discuss, and possible action to approve board member(s), fire chief and administrative personnel(s) to attend the 2022 AFCA/AFDA Fire & EMS Leadership Conference & Expo from July 12-15, 2022, in Glendale, AZ. 8. DATE AND TIME OF NEXT MEETING a. June 15, 2022, at Ganado Fire Station One and/or ZOOM at 6:00 PM MDT (Subject to Change) b. Alternate Date: June 22, 2022, at Ganado Fire Station One and/or ZOOM at 6:00 PM MDT (Subject to Change) 9. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS This provides an opportunity for the Board to direct staff to include items on future agendas for further consideration and decision later date or to further study a matter. Althea James requested for an update on the Fourth of July Fire Works Display Show.
