Management’s Discussion and Analysis of Basic Financial Statements June 30, 2021

The following discussion and analysis of the Ganado Fire District (the district’s) financial performance presents management’s overview of the District’s financial activities for the year ended June 30, 2021. Please read it in conjunction with the District’s basic financial statements which begin immediately following this analysis. This annual financial report consists of two parts, Management’s Discussion and Analysis (this section) and the Basic Financial Statements. Nature of Operations The Ganado Fire District provides Fire, Emergency Medical, Public Education, and other public services to homes, property and persons residing within the District boundaries, as well as services to locations and persons outside the District thru mutual aid agreements and contracts.

2020-2021 District Accomplishments:

l July 2020 – All monthly scheduled training will be suspended until further notice due to COVID 19 Pandemic health crisis. l Hosted no community educational American Health & Safety Institute Basic First Aid/CPR and AED for Adult/Child/Infant training classes on the first Monday of each month at Ganado Fire Station 1. l Hosted no community educational American Health & Safety Institute Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider and Professional Rescuers training classes at Ganado Fire Station 1. l Hosted no community educational Fire Safety and Extinguisher training classes on the second Monday of each month at Ganado Fire Station 1. l July 13, 2020 - Executive Order # 008-20: Extending the Declaration of emergency due to the confirmation of the COVID-19 virus in regional areas surrounding the Navajo Nation, closing the Navajo Nation government offices and related entities.

l July 15, 2020 – Regular Fire Board meeting conducted in-person. l August 1, 2020 – Special Fire Board Meeting held in-person. l August 26, 2020 – Regular Fire Board Meeting held in-person.

l Through the month of August 2020, Administrative Assistant Marcarlo Roanhorse and Fire Chief Woodie attended Chapter Planning Meetings and Regular Meetings to obtain supportive resolutions for the Navajo Nation CARE Act funds from each chapter: The following chapters are:

o Ganado Chapter (Service Area) o Steamboat Chapter (Service Area) o Klagetoh Chapter (Service Area) o Cornfields Chapter (Service Area)
